Since the birth of Josh and Zoe, I've spent every father's day with them. This year though, it will be different. It is my first time spending Father's day alone. They will be visiting their grandparent's in Monette Missouri on Sunday, and I'll have the apartment to myself for the most part on that day, until Zach gets back from Tulsa. I don't know exactly what I'm going to be doing that day, but I'll tell you this, I'll be missing the kids more so than I ever have before.
Not all hope is lost however. They sent me an email last night that made me so proud and happy to be a father, and reminds me the reason why I came back to school and why I'm continuing with my education and won't let anything stop me in my pursuit to have the ability to provide them with the life that they deserve.
(Note, this email was dictated to my mother, hence the reason why the spelling is better than what an 6 and 8 year old can do...lol)
Dear Daddy,
Hi! Happy Father's Day (a little early)!
We love you, very very much. We hope you are having fun at school. We miss you so so so much!
We hope you like your new apartment. We hope to be with you after this semester. Remember on your first letter to us you said you could spend the night with us.
We went swimming today, and rode bikes, and I (Zoe) got a sunburn, but Josh didn't.
We picked cherries off of grandma & grandpa's cherry tree, and I (Zoe again) loved them, but Josh not too much.
We are going to grandma Jo's new house in Monett tomorrow. We will be gone all week.
We love you with all our hearts, and we hope very very much to see you when we can.
We hope you like your summer school.
Today papa's friend came over, and he was really really nice.
It's late, and it's past our bedtime, so we have to go to bed. We hope grandpa will read us a story tonight.
We love you daddy!
Good night!
Josh & Zoe
Hugs & Kisses
SMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HUGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So to all of you other fathers out there, I wish you a happy father's day. It doesn't get any better than moments that you can spend with your family, and the moments that your children take your breath away.
