Have you ever had something close to you but could never be yours?
She dropped by recently and we hung out, nothing fancy. I love her dearly, and it would take a whole lot for that to change. But I have to face the reality time and time again: it really seemed like she would be it..the one. To this day we have a lot in common. We enjoy each others company even if we are lounging around idling the time. She is impressed by things I do that would probably bore most people to tears. It seems like any day now we'll start finishing each others sentences. But she belongs to another...for the long run. And to even begin to wish for things to be different would make me a horrible person.

But as SADISTIC_GLEE said, try to keep the friendship going still, even if it doesn't become anything more...I've ended those types of relationships before, and regret doing so
