What has made you feel good this week?
Well, well, well... I finally pulled my finger out and made an effort on here. That's one... right?
Haha, but in all seriousness, today has made me feel good. And it was nothing like attention from a boy, or a snazzy piece of clothing that did it. In fact, it was looking to be a really crappy day...
You see, my household has suffered a slight problem with underground pipes getting blocked and as a result of this, stinking out the place with the stench of Satan's toilet itself. And this morning, my dearly beloved house was cured of this plague by two lovely plumbing gents, and with the smell finally gone, my housemate (sensitive soul that he is) was able to return.
Also, being able to shower without unleashing a filthy sludge upon the unwitting backyard is something in itself.
With the plumbing issue fixed, I was motivated. I was a woman on a mission. My heels were on fire. Lord, don't stop me now!
But wait! Hunger strikes! Alas... the eggs in the fridge are months past expiration. The shock... the horror... but it was okay. Freshly washed, dried, and with hair straightened, I strolled up the street to get some new eggs, some milk, and (feeling chipper) a couple of coffees from my good friends and co-workers at Velvet Garage.
On my way home, luck struck! What's this? A free wine rack and two free stools?! BARGAIN! I scooped them up and hurried back home, where my other housemate was super grateful for coffee and free wine rack gifts. Feeling even more chipper and encouraged than before, I scrawled a thank you note and took the last longneck in the house back to the "freebie house". Because community matters.
Bolstered by the days productivity, I made salad for lunch, with some scrambled egg whites for protein (DELICIOUS!), but before long, I was back out and pounding that pavement. With no real aim or purpose, I meandered my way up King St, stopping in the various little shops to see the many trinkets and scour the junk for any prizes that may be found. There were many, but also too many out of my price range. I settled on a nice little wonky cactus from the garden market and a Karnivool shirt from the red cross shop.
Prizes in hand, and confidence boosted, I made my way back home to end the day in spectacular fashion.
In bed, earl grey tea with milk and honey, pup curled into my feet, and rain falling gently on the roof.
If you survived my waffle... WELL DONE! haha
Thanks so much, guys! I hope your week turns out like my day! xx
