went over to the shoe/skate shop sole brother and bought a pair of black suede nike sb dunk mids that were on sale (i was lucky, that was the only pair of 13s). it was also cool to see they had the brut sb dunk highs. also bagged a brown VA fitted. sneakers are really more of a way of life at times than something you put on your feet. i could go more and elaborate, but if you're really not into shoes in that aspect, you really won't understand.
but anyway, sole brother is the only real skate shop around in this general area. you should always support your local skate shop and all that shit. sole brother is also the spot to get swag by shmack clothing, one of the better local designer labels.
made a hop skip and a jump over to skinnie's records, which actually one of the last record stores in the seven cities area. this one just happens to specialize in rock/punk/hardcore. bought Group Sex by The Circle Jerks on 12" and a couple of other random hardcore and metal stuff.
he had Guns & Roses Appetite For Destruction 12" on display at the top with some comment about the price (think it said something like PRICE: DON'T EVEN ASK... HOW MUCH IT IS IT WORTH TO YOU). being a little bit of an ass i asked how much was it actually worth, because i actually have an almost mint condition copy i bought in at a thrift store in reykjavik. he said he's seen it on ebay for about $150.
i ended up spending about 70 bucks in that store. he seemed pretty happy.
