I'm starting a new exercise routine, mostly just running and sit ups, with my rommmate. I'm hoping to go from 180 to 145 by july 1st. I'm cutting down on carbs, eating more fruits and veggies, and cutting out fast food. I'm hoping that this will be a good shift for me, that I'll be able to feel better about myself when this is all done.
I'm really concerned about improving my self image, and that's more than just a superficial desire. I don't know exactly what it is with me; I've never dated, or been involved with a girl, and I suppose that's starting to bother me again. In high school, it bothered me because it seemed to be a status symbol to have a girlfriend. After H.S. I didn't care so much about it. Now though, I'm 23, and I'm having hard time with it. It doesn't help that my roommates are both shut-ins and I don't have any other friends outside of them.
I've been told I'm a nice enough guy, and that I'm likeable. But I've never really met anyone who was interested in me for anything other than a purely platonic relationship. It kind of worries me...
