dream 6/30/03
i don't remember how i got to the woods, with these people. i knew that they were somehow different from other people, but i was too confused to remember. i was delirious from hunger. it was a hunger i had never known before that affected my strength and my mind and my clarity, and all i could think of was food. i followed them through the woods to a cave where torches were lit. they were having a wonderful time; this was a party. there was dancing and screaming, smiling and aggression. and then they brought out the pie. it was berry pie, but with an unusual thick red filling. everyone had many pieces. i noticed an older woman in the corner. the berries in
her pie were shriveling and drying, and i told her she'd better eat quickly if she didn't want the berries to go to waste. she snapped at me: "i don't need them..." i ate, and it tasted strange, but it was the mostdelicious
and satisfying thing i had ever eaten, and after eating i felt envigorated. i felt more alive than ever. i felt strong.
and then the leader of the group got up and spoke of the kill. of how the small arrogant boy had gotten lost in the woods, and the pleasure in killing him. the life he lost for us to feel like this.
vampires. now i realized why they seemed different from other people, why the pie seemed so unusual and so fulfilling. it got rid of my blood-craving. and i was one too. it felt wonderful.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
on a side note, does anyone remember that episode of saved by the bell where zack met that indian guy and we all learned about social preconceptions, and the fact that indian people don't still live in teepees and wear moccassins and shit?
how enlightening.
