So it's not quite been as frequently that I've been updating things around here that I was intending. It's been a pretty hectic few weeks lately.
Work has been nightmarish the past few weeks, people leaving people taking time off and moronic new processes being put in place that serve no identifiable purpose beyond making our jobs harder. Gotta love Bureaucracy.
Football (soccer) season has started again and to say I have a love/hate relationship would be the mother of all understatements. I absolutely love football. I love playing it, I love supporting it, I love watching it, I love my club... But the flipside of it is that I hate almost everything about it and almost everyone I know through it. I don't even know whether I can offer any sort of explanation as to why. Well except for the people side of things, that's easy, with the exception of a select few good friends 99% of the people I have the misfortune of knowing through football are complete and utter, irredeemable cunts.
Having said all that I did the away trip to Melbourne last weekend and it was just amazing fun. Melbourne always is. Went down with a mate and met a couple of lads down there one from Scotland and a scouser as well. Over the course of Friday and Saturday nights between me and my mate we spent slightly over $1500. It was a pretty epic weekend. We smashed so many shots of black sambuca the Friday night I was sure I was going to shit purple.
Then this past week I went to see Wednesday 13. It's the fifth time I've been lucky enough to see him live. (6 if you include Murderdolls). He is the one musician where I could listen to his music every day and see him play live every week and I would never ever get bored or sick of it. His live shows are just impossibly fun and energetic. His setlist for this tour in particularly was probably the best I've ever seen. He even played my all time favourite song of his, Ghost Of Vincent Price, the first time I've ever seen it live.
Beyond that though there's nothing to really report, despite (or maybe because of) my life being so hectic there's not been huge amounts of news or things that have happened to me that are in any way particularly exciting.
At least over the next few months I've got a fair bit to look forward to. Ashes test in Brisbane, Warped Tour, Newcastle away trip, Wellington away trip, Steel Panther tour, UFC Fight Night in Brisbane.
Until then enjoy my terrible quality iPhone quality photos of Melbourne and of Wednesday 13.
