I wrote this last night while I was watching over Maggie, I had no internet connection there otherwise it would have gone up last night...

So I brought Gypsy and Grimm to the vet today.
Grimm tested negative for feline HIV/Leukemia. He has fleas but I'm going to be doing a treatment for that next week. I found out that he is about 7 weeks old so he couldn't get neutered or get his rabbies shot yet because he is too young, same thing with the flea treatment. He has to be at least 8 weeks for the flea treatment. He did get the distemper shot, well the first in a series of them anyway. They are a series of 3 shots and he got the first one. He will get the next one in a month and the last a month after that. Then he can get the rabbies shot and when he is 6 months old he can be neutered. Other than that he is fine. I found out that his eyes will probably turn more of a green color than the blue that they are now. They told me that blue eyes are more common in white haired cats. I also got his nails trimmed.
Gypsy got her nails trimmed and her belly shaved (because of matted hair). She got her rabbies shot and will need a flea treatment soon because of Grimm having fleas. They took a look at her ears and found out that she has a bad ear infection. I couldn't afford the medication today but they said that if I have to wait a couple of weeks to buy the medication it will be ok because they think she has had it for awhile. The doctor said that she doesn't appear to be blind but possibly has a condition that they can treat but it would require tests to be done on her. I told him that if it is something that causes her to be in pain than I will consider it but if she is fine I would rather just keep her comfortable and leave her alone because she is 13 years old. Other than that she appeared healthy.
Both cats were weighed in. Gypsy weighed in at 9.7 pounds and Grimm weighed in at 1.4 pounds. He's a tiny little thing. He won the hearts over of everyone at the office everyone had to hold him and make silly noises at him.
But that was it now I'm off to take care of Maggie until tomorrow morning.
