Last night I was nearly read my Miranda rights!

Oh-ho, yes!

The hubby and I were sitting outside, enjoying a lukewarm flavored beverage, talking to a neighbor, when someone in a black S.U.V. pulls up, coming the wrong way up our street. So, just trying to keep the person from getting into any trouble, we informed her that she was going the wrong way. Immediately, she gave us sass. Tsk tsk to her! So we let her go on her merry way, but not before she asked where Mitch, who happens to be a neighbor, lived. So, we told her, and she asked if two boys were there, to which we said no, because they weren't, and she told her passenger that they were there. We politely tried to correct her, but, she drove off quite quickly.

She turns around at the top of the street, comes back, and parks behind Jordan's Cavalier. Her passenger then proceeded to exit the vehicle, and walked to the house. The woman began talking to us about Mitch, and how he shouldn't be hanging out with young children (of the age 13-15), since he is an adult. To which our neighbor, whom we were previously talking to, responded with how they were simply teaching the kids how to skate. Harmless enough to me, with exception of the risk of broken bones, which in this day and age can happen at any moment. *snap goes the wrist*

She gave more sass, so, I responded with, "Shouldn't the parents be the ones keeping their children away from someone that the children should not be hanging out with?"

Then she offered to show me her badge, and offered me my Miranda rights.

We all laughed.

She became pissed, quite obviously, but, since she wasn't in any sort of police car, nor was she in any kind of uniform, and definetly not "undercover", we simply did not care. We were standing in front of our own house, chatting with a friend. Not a damn thing wrong with that, no matter how pissed off she was. She's a bad parent, not our fault, certainly not mine.

We began to talk to each other, loud enough that she could hear, but not intentionally so, about how stupid it all was, when a friend of the neighbors came out, after hearing her shout out to read me my rights. He asked if all was well, probably because he's a bigger man, and could probably protect us if need be. He and the neighbor we were chatting with went to speak with the woman. Jordan and I occupied ourselves for the time being, until they came back, where we continued to discuss the situation at hand.

The excitement of the moment fizzled out, they left, we continued talking to our friend, and eventually came back inside, where I proceeded to sit on my ass some more.

Now I really hope you enjoyed that.
