No prob. I've been posting a new hype thread once a day for the last week or so to keep people excited and we have a few more to go. Didn't want that surprise given away too soon. Thanks for understanding.
The "24 hours in Charlotte" trip was interesting. The drive of 6.5 hours EACH WAY kinda sucked but it was worth it. Got to meet a longtime SG friend and swap interesting stories and random knowledge such as:
- Jerome the Gnome
- Difference between a nerd, a geek, and a dork and where we fall on the spectrum
- How does frequency response of... Read More
Here I am! First word of advice, don't do craigslist first if you've never done a dating website. There's a scary factor there you don't find in some of the other websites. Any of the paid websites are generally okay except eHarmony. eHarmony SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS. OkCupid is free, and a lot of people like it. I personally like the crowd on Nerve.com, but it's a paid site. But it tends to attract a more alternative-type crowd. Yahoo personals, match.com, etc. are fine (paid) - they tend to attract a wider range of folks. You might also want to join us over at the Online Dating group for more advice . . . Good luck!
Nashvegas is still cool. Haven't gotten out a whole lot. Did however go with a guy I work with to an all-time low dive bar. To say it was a mixed crowd was an understatement. We had punks. We had squares. We had Rockabillies. We had skinheads... and everyone got along. I even met a gay skinhead. How in the F does that... Read More
That place can really burn you out fast. But it does have it's perks.. like employee discount. Mikey gets a new laptop and it's a Mac!!! It is actually what I am typing to you on now. I like it but I have to have my trackball plugged in because I cannot deal w/out my right-click functionality. I do like the... Read More
My perks at work are discounts on food. Also cool, but my laptop is eight now...
Just don't keep any facial hair that grows in the wrong direction. One of my Kentucky cousins has a mustache that lays on his face very diagonally. Makes him look like he's standing in very strong wind. Don't do that.
The past 2 weeks has been interesting to say the least. I spent all last week sleeping on a pull out sofa until my new room became available (see last journal entry). I think this new place will work out sooo much better. I have a bigger room, cooler flatmates most of wg=hich are musicians, bigger house, no utilities and... Read More
I started work today. There is some drama going on there which I don't care to elaborate on. It did make me think that I was going to lose my job but now it is all good. I am sleeping on a pull out Sofa at a friends place. It's a nice place and no one complains about my snoring.... Read More
Hmmm . . . now why would you feel off balance? There was major drama right when you started your new job, and you're not living in your own place yet . . . makes sense to me! Hang in there, I'm sure it will get better.
Well, I made it to nashville. The drive was not as bad as I thought it was going to be. I was sick most of the way but not really bad. I am still trying to get over it. Got here, meet the guy I would be renting a room from, got my stuff into the house, set up the bed and took a nap.... Read More
That's just downright lame. If the dude is such a fucking light sleeper, he shouldn't be taking in people to rent rooms from him. Idiot..... I hear stories like that and it just verifies for me how much I generally hate people.Hope you get settled soon, m'dear. But hey......
I was planning on leaving this morning but I am all sicked up. I have to leave this afternoon because if I don't, tomorrow will be miserable! This is going to be a long, painful trip...
I'm going to be posting that soon.
