A brief update:

I have been travelling around Thailand, hooked up with two different girls in two different towns . Been taking lots of snaps of various things. Have joined the sport of waymarking and geocachinggreat fun. Visited a few ancient sites. Met up with a few old friends, made a few new friends, and tried to avoid a few buffuns (both old and new).

Now at a bit of a crossroads (literally and figuratively). I will be heading back to Bangkok in a few days to buy my new MacBook with 10.6, yay! But then?

I can continue travelling, but tourism by itself palls after a while, and it has been 4 years now for me. I have in fact put in an application to teach the English at a local uni. If the funding is approved (Nov) and I am still interested I will take the job. It will, I think, be fun. I have spent the last 3 days visiting the uni, the students are a happy bunch and the staff interesting and also happy. There is one other 'farang' (foreigner) there, so the uni will be happy to acquire one new native Eng teacher for its 2,500 students. And, one is paid the princely sum of ~us$800 a month, which, by local standards is a good salary.
