there are so many things i have to say today, but so much more lately i have been keeping them in my head, silently musing rather than leaving them here or anywhere for you to read.

there are thoughts about love and its flipside, about old friendships and new starts.

it is 2004 now; i miss you but i know you are close. maybe you...

hi chooks.

i am currently stranded in the lovely toronto. it sure is lovely, but i have to say it would be lovelier to be in nyc right now and leaving for my long journey home at 9am.

i might be in new york for an extra week (if i can get there tomorrow or over the next few days) because its not as easy...

Imagine this..i actually AM going to NZ in about three weeks (interesting how my first comment in your journal was about wanting to go there with you and now i'm actually going there...what a difference a few weeks and an unbelievable airfare deal can get you lol)

Anyways...i only have 11 days there and want to make the most of them and having seen the South, but not North Island, i'm wondering if i should see it instead? Ireally want to do some of the same stuff i did in the South before (bungee, Franz josef etc...)but i'm wondering if there's anything i just have to check out that you as someone in NZ could recommend. thanks a lot!

truth lies in layers, each one thin and barely opaque, like skin, resisting the tug to be told. as a documentarian i think about this a lot. in the edit, timing is everything. there is a time to peel back.

its so damn cold here. coldest winter ever - auckland winters are really mild generally. i can't wait to experience a north american summer in three weeks!

Mm auckland winters have all the downfalls with none of the benefits...No snow...Only a bit of frost to help you slip over on yer ass =/ I've bonded with my heater a lot these past few weeks.

I just read your bio and spotted your mention of Jamaica Kincaid, I love her work, have you read Annie John or Lucy? They're incredible...I found myself underlining every page and muttering "exactly" under my breath.. she really captures the unabashed anger of a strong woman..
ok thats all my gushing.. smile
