hey..thank you for writing i've been around for a while, but i rarely post any comments..it seems that a lot of people know each other for some time and i feel like i don't have something interesting to say i keep quiet..it has absolutely nothing to do with the dynamics of the group..it just me.. i think the group is great..and the bachelorette/bachelor party sounds like a great idea.....anyway....it's great that you wrote to say hi
Actually, Morrissey did perform several Smiths songs (I counted 4 total) when I saw him last July at HOB. It wasn't a whole set, mind you, but still gratifying. Though I understand not wanting to pay near 50 dollars just to hear him for an hour - tops.
Burning Man was unbelievable. I'll be posting some pics soon.
I will be home in less than 6 hours. You cannot imagine how happy this makes me.
EDIT: Bloody motherfuckingassed tiny regional airports who decide to fucking CANCEL THE LAST FLIGHT OF THE DAY. FUCK. I'm so goddamned homesick I can't even think.
Here is the first half of my week away. I'll write the rest on the plane.
I'll be in Virginia 'til Sunday night, so if you don't hear from me, don't take it all personal and shit. We're talkin' the heart of Appalachia here, so they don't so much get nekkid girls. Or even rubber duckies.
Have a [....] week.
Smiths/Morrissey night at Delilah's is a great time - especially if, like me, you never got over your high school predilection for lying around on your bedroom floor, pretending to be depressed, listening to the Smiths on your crap cassette player. Basically, the dj spins smiths and morrissey all night (exclusively) and everyone sings along while drinking way too many Newcastles. Ok, everyone sings along and I drink way too many Newcastles.
No time to write right now...but I'm totally curious to read everyone's recap of Sunday night...it'll be so interesting to see which details stick in whose mind.
The cab ride. Totally. That was one of my favorite parts of the evening. So clown car, so high school, so much fun! I hope I didn't crush you though, seriously. And...hmm...I remember playing with Cruelty's hair, and making plans to go with you to get holes poked in us, and playing twister until after dark. Hehehe. Oh, yeah, and Daweenis having the fucking coolest tattoo EVER! And the rubber ducky. I was so thrilled to see your rubber ducky.
Come to the beach on Sunday. Legitimate excuses for not attending are limited to the following:
a) if you have to work & no one can cover you, I am sad but respect and understand your quandry
b) if you are obliged to be in another state, I am inclined to question your good sense, but am not in the position... Read More
Would "my only transportation is the Metra and they don't run in my area on Sunday" a good excuse. Cause that is all I got. And the reason I didn't go.
Well, tree banch boy seems to have fucked off. I don't know what it was about, really, he just stopped calling. *shrug* His loss, I guess. He lived really far away. I mean, I once broke up with a guy because he lived in Pilsen. Okay, I'm not that shallow. Really, I broke up with him because I... Read More
Well, all other things being equal, and I despite its lack of dancing, I had one of the nicest weekends Ive had in awhile. On Friday I went on what in common parlance I guess amounts to a date. We saw Garden State (it was pretty good, if a bit unbalancedthe writing was solid throughout, I thought, but it couldnt seem to settle on a... Read More
No, I don't think they're the same friends. One of them is going to Haaahvaahd for Public Health, and the other is her girlfriend and is just moving with her.
In just over three weeks, on the final Sunday of August, I will lose the first of my close friends to the penultimate sacrament, that mysterious delicacy they call marriage.
And I have to get the stripper. I need him to come to the tiny town of Fort Defiance, VA.
Clearly, I am doing something wrong. I type in things like male stripper Virginia or... Read More
There was a very recent article in one of those men's magazines about an ordinary man (Yes we are out there and proud!) who stripped for a friend's bachelorette party. He got lessons from a pro first. He went through various hair removal, tanning, toning, and dance move lessons before hand before he performed the act.
p.s. - someone make me stop...
