Being nice and having ideals has gotten me nowhere either in that regard. I've more or less stopped lamenting over it though. I've basically dropped most of the ideals of love and romance thing too, but I'm still usually "nice". Remember that in the animal kingdom males often contest for females-- humans do this as well though in less overtly aggressive ways. The "nice"-- ie: the passive -- male isn't going to be the one losing his virginity with the most rapidity, nor the one eliciting the most attraction from females (generalizing here; there are exceptions). That's something to keep in mind-- I have seen guys consciously adjust their previous attitudes and personas towards people, namely women, and they started having sex really frequency.
