Dengue Fever is my current favorite band in the world. About seven years ago, when I was living in Tokyo, I bought a CD called Cambodian Rocks at a shop I used to frequent, Barn Homes Records. The CD blew my little mind to pieces. A collection of nameless Cambodian pop songs from the late 60s and early 70s, the CD was far and away...

David is best known as the bassist for the influential British bands Bauhaus and Love and Rockets. But with Bauhaus coming to a well-publicized end (their final album, Going Away White,...

wow. if that comes to ny, i would give my right eye to see it.

eyy, I know this guy.
I used to work at Lou's Records, and he comes in all the time.
I remember running into him in the parking lot of the Knitting Factory
in Hollywood, the first time I saw SMOG, and we nodded to each other.
Never liked Bauhas (from what I've heard) but he seemed like a cool, friendly,
humble dude. And I heard from my friend who worked at Lou's after me
that his son is always coming in buying awesome stuff I think, with his girlfriend.
And he says in the interview here, he just turned 20, so yeah, I guess he's younger
than us by a handful.
Anyway, there's this excellent Love and Rockets cover by this
band called Ativin on their album Night Mute. Check it out, DARK post rock!!!!

The first time Flogging Molly toured Japan, the band made a complete mess. Tucked inside the hotel bar, with their pals the Casualties and a group of Japanese punks -- done up to the nines in liberty spikes and leather jackets -- the band was getting rowdy in true form, shouting, "Kampai! I was in a band that opened for Flogging Molly on a regular basis at good ol' Molly Malone's many years ago. Dave King sounds like pretty much the same guy now as he was then, and Nathen was "that new kid". We knew they were destined for something much better than the 10x10 stage at Molly's.
Good job guys! Great interview Erin!

One of the best things (and one of the few good things) about living in Phoenix, is that Flogging Molly has been here for the last 5 years (at least) on St. Patrick's Day.....it's a dream come true, and I love it! I've been there for every single one of those shows and I love every minute of it!! As soon as one St. Patty's day is over I'm planning another one, w/FM as the main event. Love it!!! They rock!!

In case you didn't see it already, I interviewed Marc Canter and Slash for Canter's new book "Reckless Road: Guns N' Roses and the Making of Appetite for Destruction."
Enjoy!

Nice work, lady. How did the Patton interview go as well?
I must say, I am very excited to see the footage shot when you were here.
I must also say that I miss you much already...

Yay, SG has a Missy Higgins interview!
I feel so less of a shameless girl-boy now, or maybe more so.
One of the best song writers around I reackon, even if the style isn't for you.
I especially like the androgeny of certain songs, and her metaphorical, almost synesthesiac descriptions of things, especially on the sound of white album, and the way she can tell a story in a few lines that takes a while to extrapolate despite using very simple language.
You can tell from this post that I don't possess the same skill

I adore Missy Higgins. I've seen her in concert three times and met her at the most recent one. She's a total sweetheart in person.
