Wondercon!

Greetings True Believers! I bring you news of how my current guest appearances out and about. Today I went and made a run to this years 2007 Wondercon. It was nice that this year it wasn't directly against Dundracon. I started my day off fairly late after getting a late night game fix smile My run to the city started out well, but once I made it to the city proper life got less pleasant. They had several streets down town blocked off, so I spent nearly an hour trying to get around about a 5 block area and get into the 5th and mission parking lot. So IO wasn't able to get into the con till about 6. Fortunately the shopping area was still open for an hour and thus I got a chance to run around and get stuff still. I love how you can find obscure and hard to acquire movies there among other things. I missed most of the celebrities in the area, since I arrived so late most of them had mosied onward. I got to briefly see Ernie Hudson of Ghostbusters fame. Plus I got a chance to take a picture of some of the Suicide girls who had a booth there. AS well as some lovely ladies portraying themselves as various foes of the Batman. After the closing of the stadium of shopping I then waited in line to catch the Masquerade presentation. After waiting some time in line I finally got in to see the show. They started the party off with a bunch of movie trailiers. It had a bunch of good ones, for things like Spiderman 3, Resident Evil, Fantastic Four, Transformers, and some others I am forgetting at the moment. After the trailers Phil Foglio was introduced as the MC of the evening and he introduced the various contestants. Some very nice costumes were on display. One man had an Electro outfit and actually had electricity sparking on his gloves! (I believe he installed stun gun tasers at the top of each finger). Plus he was accompanied by a nice looking lady in a Black Cat costume. We had Jedi, both little, older, and one specific lady who represented the cute side of the force. A very nice Devil May Cry pair. A couple doing Eric Draven and Shelley Webster. A Superman group (Superman, LEx, and A gun Moll). The Superman guy had a good costume and a very nice cape. But the ones that were the best were 2 folks whose costumes were Darth Maul and Qui Gon Jin. However the twist was they were from the Lego STar Wars! They won both the Star Wars prize pack from Lucas, as well as the Overall prize for the Convention. Afterwards I decided to mosey as well. There were Star Wars fan films shorts, but I decided to get home by midnight as opposed to much later. Well that is all for now True Believers! Excelsior!
