Episode 3!!!! I'm not gonna say anything about the movie, because there are much more articulate people who enjoyed it as much as I did. I'll just say that I found it 99% perfect, and didn't find anything to complain about, except for the 28 years between meeting Vader and finally showing where he came from.
As for the pre-show....
Apparently, George Lucas has some ownership of the new Boulevard Cinemas. as a result, we had a good thing happen.
In all the world, only my screening had what it had -- a pre-movie video by some f the ILM people responsible for the movie. We had Yoda's main puppeteer, General Greivous' designer, and a number of other people who helped make the film. Outstanding!!!
The video was a behind-the-scenes look at designing Yoda, showing how the effects were put in, showing just how much of the film is still real sets and models, and how a person can have his head removed and replaced to show a 70+ year-old kicking Jedi ass!
Following the presentation, there was a brief trivia contest. Yours Truly, Geek #1, won the first award given for knowing that Lando Calrissian mined Tibanna Gas on Bespin. I received a book on CD. The ILMer tossed the CD to me. But missed. Nailing a woman 2 rows in front of me right in the face! Ow!
The book I won is the story leading up to Ep3, with General Greivous on the cover. Having his designer in the audience, I had to have him autograph the general! He did it happily.
All in all, it was the absolute perfect way to enjoy what was the single most anticipated movie of my 31 years!
