Day 11 is Copalli White Rum, 42% by volume. This one is fragrant, but I can’t tell what it actually smells like. Has a fruitiness to the taste with a mellow finish a slight burn at the end.

Day ten is The Sanford Dark Spiced Rum, 40% by volume. First smell is of warm spices like cinnamon and clove. Definitely taste the clove, but there is an underlying sweetness to it that I just can’t place. Clean finish with a warming sensation at the end. Think this would be good in hot cider.

Day 9 for the advent is Don Papa Small Batch Rum, 40% by volume. First smell is either butterscotch or vanilla, very sweet smelling. Tastes almost like a spiked creamsicle to me, or maybe an old fashioned. It’s smooth with a creamy texture with a clean finish. This is definitely one I can see going in my bar cabinet, really good and enjoyable.

Day 7 of the advent is Ron Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva, 40% by volume. This one has a strong alcohol smell to it. Doesn’t really smell sweet or have a specific spice sent to me. Has almost a creaminess and smooth taste at first followed by a very tiny burn at the end with a crisp finish. This is a good sipping one.

I’m getting a subtle butterscotch flavor, very mellow with no warm feeling at the end. Has a clean finish on the palette. This is one to sip and just relax with.

Day 4 of my rum advent is Gosling’s Family Reserve 40% by volume. Definitely a darker rum. Little sweet and hints of spice on the nose, maybe a molasses aroma to it. First sip I taste molasses and then hint of spice at the end with a warming feeling at the end and then mellows out. Seems to be a little thicker, when I swirl

This one has a spiciness to the nose at first and then I think possibly toasted coconut? Could be wrong with that. Starts as a mellow flavor the slowly hints of spicy with a smooth finish.
