So I am still kinda new here. I see all the hopeful SG models, but can anyone tell me how I can become an official or hopeful SG photographer? Can I put up random photos I've taken, or do they need to be of actual and/or hopeful SGs?

There’s a group called hopeful photographers. You should join it and read the FAQ. You can post photos you’ve taken on your page, and you can post in regional threads about your location and availability. It’s very important to go read all the rules you can!
