I've always known that I'm basically the luckiest guy in the world (aside from one area I always fuck up; read every prior blog) and I always get what I want in the end.....................................almost always.
Got a call today from my former First Sergeant who has been vaguely aware of the situation I'm going through and my intentions from hence forth. He gave me a name and a number to call and the man on the other end of the line basically told me that he would be able to help me get whatever I wanted. In almost those words verbatim. Now, I've known for a long time that it's all about who you know. But for me to go from earlier this morning wondering about how things might end up for me, to this afternoon trying to decide exactly what I want, is pretty fricking amazing.
Went out and got drunk again last night. Been feeling pretty much the same day-in and day-out. After that phone call I feel a lot better about things. I'm hungry. That fire inside just sparked a little. Looked at myself in the mirror and saw potential. I've got things to do today and I'm going to get them done. About time to leave this pathetic 'burg and the packing will be light. "Oh the places you will go..............."
