I can't stress this enough with everything that is coming at us as a community, as a people, as a nation, you need to grow teeth.
They're coming for you, your children, your ways of life, your liberties, your freedoms, your rights, they're in their sad hundreds all dressed up in their bland suits with their dwindling courts of mega-donors and they are trying to erase you and your friends from the fucking landscape. Yeah, it's just that real and absolutely that severe. We need you to grow teeth.
You're smart, you're sane, you're empathic and hopeful and that's what they are using against you. They're waiting for you to nod and shrug once more and then again and again. Shrug because it isn't anyone you know right now, shrug because it doesn't effect you. Shrug because you don't think there is anything you can do or shrug because you know what speaking up will cost you in some way. They are counting on your inaction and praying for your continued cowardice in the face of their fascism.'
Have no doubt what we face now is fascism in all its miserable forms, all at once, tossed at us from every worthless branch of the rotten tree we call our government. Fascism comes for you in the form of propaganda, familiar tones and emphatic voices. Fascism howls at you about the nostalgia of a time and a place that never existed, Fascism haunts the halls of your mind finding awful and cold comforting places to make you hate everyone who isn't just like you.
Fascism will tell you that its healthy to judge everyone and everything that doesn't hold muster to whatever yard stick matters in the moment, fascism will make a worthless racist out of the best of us if it's left to fester long enough. Fascism will have you courting power while sacrificing your needs and better instincts.
You have to deny all of that and yes, grow teeth. When they come for neighbor who don't look like you, we need you to bite.
When they come for the girls and women who don't want to be forced into bearing children, we need you to bite.
When they demand that you betray your teachers and inform on the vulnerable members of your community, we need you to rise up and cut them down where they stand.
Our politicians only serve us when they fear us!
