In late 2015/2016 I turned my fb page into a political flamethrower, I got out and marched and protested, I signed petitions, I argued on multiple platforms with state and federal representatives. I didn't have much hope, but I tried.
I watched the bodies pile up, I watched the word atrocity lose its meaning. I gratefully rid myself of nearly a hundred "friends" many of them people I had known for decades because I can no longer abide bigotry and misogyny by ignoring it or keeping quiet when I see it.
I still watched the bodies pile up, I watched the brightest beacon of democracy shit itself and fall down a flight of stairs. I lost hope, not out of some need to circle my own wagons, fuck my wagons, they're all on fire anyway. I gave up hope because all the peaceful marching in the world doesn't stop fascism.
It's 2019 and the fires have burnt everything up. There will never be a return to what was. There is only this, this now...and it is unbearably ugly and ceaseless in its lust to cause misery and subjugation. There is only this fucking orange fungal infection and his screeching pile of bigots and cowards.
