Eating dried Cranberries, yum.

I just found out a few minutes ago that an old friend and fellow black belt got married. So happy for her.

I just finished recording all the episodes of Shimmy (a belly dance show on Fit TV). I am so excited to start learning. I have been interested in belly dancing for many years and have a friend that is...

The kittens tried to bring the live baby mouse into the house when I opened the door ... now I have to watch them very carefully. biggrin

My kittens are contantly running off with my stuff ... they turn everything into toys. surreal

Aye, cats & kittens . . . what perfect little nightmares eh? Just this a.m., I heard a huge ruckus while I was in the shower. Apparently the kid's cat, Olive, either brought in a bird from the deck, or one flew in the open door [Olive doesn't like to be outside for real, it's too scary, but she goes insane for me to let her out on the deck first thing in the morning, however she has to have the door left ajar] and Olive had somehow gotten it into her trash can. She, the kid, was freaking out. (It was easy to get the bird back outdoors, and apparently none the worse for the experience).

Ahh . . . the joys of pet ownership. whatever

So much going on right now.

A good friend is moving to Oregon this next week. I will miss her a bunch but it will be a good move for her.

Another good friend just found out she got the house she was trying to buy.

I have come to the realization that my back problems may be in part due to my purse being...

Thank you very much!

yes yes! I thought about the mobile thing. making one myself. I wanted to hang little ghosties and bats from it, and little jack-o-lanterns. but I don't know if it would scare the baby...?

Ha! so here I am, ready to write and my mind is blank. I am at a loss for words. I wonder if this is what is like to be at peace? Or then again, it's probably just total mental exhaustion. Either way, this all you are going to get tonight. smile

On some days, I don't want my job either. I'd much rather tattoo someone, unfortunately, when it comes to artistic talent, I've got zero. frown
I can't seem to get started on the story, like you, it appears I've got some writer's block. Have a great weekend.

I have had training on my mind this last week.

I have been taking it easy so my back can heal and that is driving me crazy. Pretty much the only exercise I have been getting lately is a total of 40 min. on the elliptical machine 5 days a week at work. I don't have much time so I work with what time I...

Sometimes you need to start training heavier to solve the problem.
alienprincess:
Sorry that your back is bothering you!

fitness/etc is filled with info that changes, people who have theories that are really based more on belief or habit, and then the people whose theories are based on selling lots of books and/or their personal trainer business.

Then again-- we're all individuals.
I spent more than the first half of my life trying to totally ignore my body so it was really really difficult to begin to learn to listen to it. I am definately still learning... I still tend to push myself too hard and then get mildly injured or have setbacks before I realize I for instance that that twinge in the top of my foot is the warning sign that means the tendonitis is about to explode and that means that it's time to walk and not run even though I am physically capable of ignoring that and doing a few more miles (but then not being able to run for a week)

sorry this is sort of jumbled.

anyway. aside from the library the other thing I do when I want to research stuff is go to borders without my wallet. heh. or maybe with just enough to buy a coffee, and sit and read the books in the cafe.

I had to learn to do this when I was in nursing school because the 35-50$+ study guides could seem like my salvation when I was most stressed out and studying (this was an illusion. meaning I didn't need them )

I'm a nerd though...I like to compare a couple different explanations of work out theory and then add/subtract/invent my own version to try.

Today was a day of random thoughts.

I don't like spiders. Not scared to death of them or anything like that. I just think they need to all die. Or at least ones in my house should die, the rest can live.

Cartoons. My favorite childhood cartoons were Rainbow Bright and GI Joe. Current favorite cartoon is Samurai Jack.

There is so much shit going...

Samurai Jack is great. When the kid was younger, we were always tuned into Cartoon Network. I kind of miss it (and last weekend got sucked into a mini-marathon of Teen Titans on Boomerang, maybe my favorite non-anime cartoon).

I don't mind spiders. I actually kind of like 'em. These little bastards however . . .

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

House centipedes, ugh puke. I see two or three of these in my bathroom or kitchen weekly. frown mad

I freaking HATE these things. Apparently they also eat other bugs, and spiders, so ... I guess you could cultivate them to take care of your spiders for you, but I'd prefer the spiders.

Glad to hear that things sound like they're going well. Have a great weekend.

stcyr:
Thanks & sorry to subject you to the centipede (again) the image is actually the one I posted on your blog in response to the spiders . . . don't look - again, no need to see that twice. Yep, I hates them!

OMG! another day. Just lying low waiting for the family bull shit that hit the fan this last week to settle down a bit. My baby brother, I love the guy but he is making some not so great decisions when it comes to money, cars, and business dealings with other family members. He has stretched himself too far, made too many deals and promises...

*hugs* families can be so very annoying!

Thanks! Again, all that stuff worked for me smile. Sorry to hear about the family drama. I hope it's all resolved with a minimum of conflict. I've got two brothers-in-law who sound similar, but we're fortunately geographically isolated from a lot of the storm(s). Good luck.

Hope everyone has a happy and safe Memorial Day weekend.

So, I got my new gym equipment! smile I like it but my husband thinks I wasted my money. I mostly disagree with him on this one. He hasn't tried to use it yet. I think it's the whole hydraulic thing that gets to him. I am hearing a lot of mixed reviews about hydraulic equipment. I have to be honest and say I really don't...

Thanks smile It really has been a bad Kung Fu month for me. Especially because I have had all the seniors and my instructor remind me on how I'm going to struggle for the year (i have arthritis, so they not being mean but rather concerned). It hard when the entire school starts riding you, but I think they have all got the message I'im there to stay smile

I have only ever used hydraulic equipment and i have found it to be great. but then again, this was after about two years of Kung fu, so I technically was in shape already. It was just something to maintain strength and tone a bit. whatever

Ah, Thursday night. The one night a week I have spare time to spend on the computer. It is relaxing.

Not much new here.

I find myself day dreaming a lot lately about what it would be like to work in an office with like minded people but I am not sure if that exists.

I did buy some new red nail polish, Bus Stop...
