In the book I just finished reading the character kept tying knots for various reasons. That got me to thinking that I really want to learn knot work. I even bought a book years back and always have it handy. But I never used it except to learn a simple wrap for the handles of some cheap throwing knives I bought. (Just a note, don't buy cheap throwing knives. They SUCK!)
Anyhow.... I was at the store with my man and came across a 10 foot section of nylon rope, perfect for learning the basics, for only .99 so I bought it. I sat down to start learning and let me say it is the cheapest cat toy I every bought! I tried playing with that silly cat for every with string and she just wouldn't jump on it, but break out the rope and she loves it. LMFAO! I guess even cats think bigger is better.
So, when kitty is not around I am working on square and slipped square knots for starters.

Thanx, I certainly plan on it! Oh, BTW, if you decide to try out the julep recipe, take my advice & leave the throwing knives behind. I speak from personal experience - bourbon & edged weapons don't play nice together. [also, skateboards and bourbon are not the perfect match they may otherwise appear]
