Cold Turkey
by Kurt Vonnegut

Many years ago, I was so innocent I still considered it possible that we
could become the humane and reasonable America so many members of my
generation used to dream of. We dreamed of such an America during the Great
Depression, when there were no jobs. And then we fought...

So, is there any estimate as to when all of the "glitches" will be worked out around here? I'm sure the powers that be have been overwhelmed by complaints, but there's only so much sympathy I can muster. I'm not much of a computer guy outside of "porn and looking up of stuff," but isn't there some method of testing format "upgrades" prior to loading...

Yeah, I miss the penguins. They had serious attitude! biggrin

This new format is definitely testing my efforts to remain optimistic. Progress (and I use the word loosely) still feels a long way off. But maybe if I say it enough I'll start to believe it. whatever The whole beta testing thing clearly doesn't happen with the SG techies. Alas, we, the paid membership, are the guinea pigs, I'm afraid.

*sigh*

At least it's not taking four full minutes to load a page anymore. Thank god for SMALL favors, at least!

It has become apparent that I have irritated or offended people in this community. Three people have chosen to eliminate me from their "friends" list since my last entry without any explanation or opportunity to defend myself. Considering I have so few friends here, and those I do/did have are all people I keep in touch with on a fairly regular basis, it is a...

Nina (Part 1)

And so it was that 300 Spartans met their fate fending off the combined forces of the Persian Empire. I sat through this fine feature film forcing myself to hold in the five pints of Fireman's Four until said battle's end. After a much needed restroom retreat, I reconvened with old friend and new outside of the Alamo Draft House Cinema...

I had been increasingly disgusted with my motivational decline over the last few months

True love is the greatest thing in the world.

...Except for a nice MLT. A mutton, lettuce and tomato sandwich, where the mutton is nice and lean and the tomato is ripe.

They're so perky. I love that.

And the glory rolls on For personal reasons, I had to catch a flight to Lubbock two weeks ago. For any of you unfamiliar with the asshole of the world that is Lubbock Texas, imagine an entirely flat land three thousand feet above sea level, constantly windy, surrounded by stock yards and pig farms, predominantly inhabited by racist dirt farmers and the most pathetically clichd...
