My predictions for the first round:

streaking young team can handle Jagr & co.
Ottawa 4, NYI 0
Isles worst nightmare in 1st round. If they somehow upset Ottawa, they'll win the East
New Jersey 4, Boston 1
Bruin's woes will continue at the Continental Airlines Dump...for the last time
Philadelphia 4, Toronto 3
the only 7-gamer in the East. Roenick and
Amonte will struggle with the banged-up
(and hopefully SARS-free) Leafs
Colorado 4, Minnesota 2
Shouldn't go six but we said that last year and the Avs played 3 7-game series. They never make it easy (well, since the finals in '96)
Detroit 4, Anaheim 1
See Ottawa/NYI Stevie Y's lift to this team will be evident here. He ain't going out in the first round you can bet on that. But where's the Dominator when you need him?
Dallas 4, Edmonton 1
Shouldn't go 5, but I like Ryan Smyth. Too bad they couldn't have had 4 more points and played Colorado - whom they beat in the 1st rd. in '98
St. Louis 4, Vancouver 3
Had to pick an upset somewhere...Vancouver has some serious goal scorers, but with all their men healthy I think the Blues can do it
Finals:
Dallas vs New Jersey
and it will be a battle of goalies
Turco vs Brodeur...
and the winner is?
