i'm still not sure what to think of this weekend. against my sister's wishes i made the decision to put our childhood dog to sleep yesterday. he would have been 18 this summer. she wanted him to take his last breath on his own terms, but she wasn't there to see how much pain he was in. the vet came to the house, and he never even knew she was there. honestly, if i knew how things were going to play out, i would have called sooner. i hope if i'm ever in that state someone has the decency to help me along.
the whole ordeal is really sad except considering that he lived quite a long life. he ate a lot of carrots, maybe that's the key.
