When europeans were connected to the earth physically and spiritually (say, the Kelts) astrology was a real science. That is gone and now astrology is more like a shared language; no scientific basis but perhaps a window to the soul or at least a place to open up about your self. People have so many more thing going on than they realize, so something/character/happening is going to fit, then the focus is all about that thing and see I told you so’s and gee that’s so you/Aquarian/Verago/Gemini etc. The vast rest of the stuff that doesn’t fit  is cast by the wayside/never seen. The Mayan calendar is still full of living truth because so many of its followers/people are still closely connected to the earth and earth meanings.
