So let me try this again. Sitting here listening to Hooverphonic, I'm trying to not let my tummy nausea get to me. Haven't been feeling well most of the afternoon.
I've still got a lot to do, many projects to finish. And what the hell am I going to do for Halloween? I could be my favorite standby, Aeon Flux. Hmmm.
The first time I dressed up as Aeon, some of you were 10!!!!). I wish I would have taken more pics back then. Perhaps it was not a good idea to wear a catsuit that covered my pores and then drop two hits of E.
Yeah, I rarely talk about my drug-addled past, with good reason. This time I will make an exception. Surprisingly I did ok, but there was one girl at the party who wasn't doing so well.
1996. Enter this (one of many) warehouse party(ies) near some train tracks. Burbank, CA. Back before such venues were nearly impossible to score. My friends, the Fresh Produce crew, were throwing a massive Halloween bash. I vaguely remember a semi-superstar DJ in attendance. I danced my ass off, nearly literally. In a catsuit and 6" boots. On the drugs. Yipes. People kept touching me and were tripping out at the costume. Didn't help.
On the side of the warehouse was this dirt lot. There was a BMW, and this girl was on her knees in front of it. Shouting. She was seeing things, that's for sure. She started yelling upward. "Please no, don't take me, God......" Writhing around in the dirt. I think I was only one of three people who saw her at first.
I felt bad, and the party was soo big that I couldn't find anyone to help her. So my friend R. and I sat with her for awhile. She wouldn't let us get close to her, but we were afraid that she might hurt herself, so we talked and talked to her. Mostly me, because at that point, talk talk talk was all I could do. Miss Aeon Flux Motormouth 1996.
All of my party party days are still with me in my mind vividly. Someday, I'll tell you about the time when I was 15 when I inhaled several full nitrous balloons and hit my head on one of those cement parking center divider thingies. Real classy.
Care to share any unique Halloween experiences?
