Give Yourself Permission

You have dreams,
beautiful, delicious visions
that grace your slumber
and tease your waking hours;
yet, you fail to give yourself
the permission to pursue these
with all the vitality and aspiration
that naturally springs from the
very depths of your being.

What are you waiting for,
a written invitation to love,
to embrace such visions wholeheartedly,
unconditionally and most powerfully?
What are you denying yourself for,
principals and expectations all too
often woven by friends, peers, lovers,
those who should mean so very much
yet all too often selfishly bound you,
direct and reject you?

What are you, after all, aching for,
if not an opportunity to release from that
treasure chamber - your heart,
ecstasies and joys that can only be
experienced by coming into and
carrying through with your own truths?;
What are you, after all, praying for,
if not the permission to grant yourself
fully, lovingly and most courageously,
a life within which to truly honor yourself?

What are you living for,
if not for yourself a little more,
for a little more love, a little more joy,
a little more of yourself each time?;
What are you dying for?,
for a part of you dies each time that
you do fail to give yourself the
permission to honor those precious
hopes and aspirations that cry out
