The last time I saw the Pixies, it was on Sept. 8th,1989. They were playing with Love and Rockets and the Cure at Dodger Stadium.
I had recently turned 15, and as a birthday present, a friend got us tickets for 7th row CENTER. Perhaps one of the best concerts of my lifetime, anyway.
Fast forward to last night, September 23rd. Greek Theater. 15 years later, and they still sound almost THE SAME. Absolutely amazing. Haha, I'm OLD.
They opened with one version of 'Wave of Mutilation', and played another for one of their encores. I was going to be very sad if I didn't hear 'Gigantic'. Kim delivered for one of the encores. Her voice sounds good, albeit a tad raspy from the smoking perhaps.
I'll see if I can find a tracklisting or try and remember!

Seen the Pixies three times in the last few months - Coachella and both nights at the Greek. Met Charles/Frank/Black backstage. It was a beautiful thing. Hearing "Winterlong" twice was cool, too.
