You really can't afford to not have it unless you're running Linux. The viruses for Linux are mostly just to prove that they exist. They don't actually do anything.

Yea that was always a fun problem when I was freelancing as a video editor and I had PC compatible equipment and software that didn't work on Mac's that the production team had...YAYAYAY! Mac does seem to be the standard in big production companies even though at this point there is no real benefit.
