I feel icky today.
Today my baby sister is 17.
A Toast to Emo Self-Destructive Roommates:
Here's to passing out on the couch listening to whatever it was we put in four hours ago
To the 3 empty fifths of vodka I have drank sitting on the kitchen counter
To the 2 empty fifths of Jaeger
47 empty pop bottles scattered across our filthy apartment
To being surprised the other one is home
To car rides:
I drive you to work and there is not enough caffiene in Speedway to wake me up
you bitch at me about my lack of turn signal usage
I bitch at you for side seat driving me
we canter over how many points is on the other's license
You make fun of me when I tell you I listened to Dashboard last night
crank up the radio at "Screaming Infidelities" and its my cigarette you light
And we play the game of predicting what will be next on the radio
recall when Thousand Foot Krutch was unknown and how we liked their first album, awwwwww they were soooo little
We remember our better times before we became these jaded adults
Here's to conversations only one of us remembers
here's to sleeping in the shower and hating 9 am
this is because 2 am on the balcony smoking
we're staring at the ducks
counting baby ducklings
to two hour conversations about the futility of love
and what we want and how we do exactly what we don't want
to wishing there was more to life
to traumatizing me
to sectional couches
to what should I wear?
to why the fuck do we have cable anyways?
To bawling our eyes out to each other
to baring our souls
to,agreeing to disagree
to not discussing politics
to not thinking
to not feeling
and I wish we could both sink into apathy and perhaps then we could just pretend we were happy
as we drive down 275
playing this radio game.
