In searching through iTunes and other podcasting services though, I can’t help but notice that there aren’t any podcasts about tattooing or tattooers. I think that’s a shame as the artists that I know are all pretty great people, with some really interesting stories to tell.
So here is what I’m thinking about doing:
My main job is working in the comic book industry, which is going to take me all over Canada and the US this year to various comic cons. In each city I’m going to for a convention, I’m going to find the best local shop and get tattooed. Just a little zapper, but I’ll record interviews with the artist and anyone else at the shop about their journey in tattooing, how they got started, other artists they like, what other art they are into, dream shops to work in, etc.
Then I’d take the audio and turn it into a podcast that I’m calling “Travels In My Skin.” I’d publish that via my podcast imprint as well as create a site if it’s own and post pics, profiles on the artists and shops that I visited.
So, I need to know where the good joints with the best and most interesting artists are! Below is my schedule for convention season this year (so far). If you or someone you know is in one of these cities and can help me out, I'd appreciate it!
