Here's something new...

As work was winding down today I had a little chat with a friend of mine in San Francisco. We talk on the phone once in a great while, but we talk on IM a lot. Here is the conversation from today on IM:

(for reading purposes I am eddiegoofball, he is enthio)

enthio: damn...

i agree that ignorance is death. i think that you may be talking about two sides of a behavioral coin - apathy or satisfaction. either can make someone able to live in a similar pattern for 30 etc. years, you know? so, what would satisfy you? i ask myself daily whether i expect too much or produce to little - it is THE question, although you have uttered it MUCH more succintly. what a fascinating conversation. marvelous.

so, what brilliant thoughts are percolating as a result of this exhange? smile
arachnequarius:
those all sound like noble plans - a fantastic way to start the new year indeed. do you have big plans?

i am alright - i've been nursing the plague death in my body, but am recovering (finally), so the new year should be peacefully welcomed in.

happy new year! kiss

Gonna go watch Lord of the Rings 3 for the first time in a few hours at a friend's house who has a 48-inch screen projector TV and a monster sound system. I watched LOTR 1 and 2 this past weekend to get me ready for this moment. Yes, I do realize I'm a dork by the way. Hope everyone is doing well and still...

I've had strep several times. It sucks every time. *sigh* But thanks for the well-wishing and the inner karma thing!

Well it's almost time... Merry xmas everybody, and I send you peace and hugs and xmas cheer from under almost a foot of new snow here in Buffalo. Time to go jump in the snow and create deep and well defined snow-angels! I hope everyone gets something cool... I'll probably get a cold!

Okay it's almost happy time. Whether you celebrate xmas, kwanza, three kings day, festivus, boxing day, or hanukkah, you have to admit, this is a festive time of year. So, with all this kindness and generosity in the air, what do you want for xmas?

i'd also like to be single for a while.
also maybe i'll try my hand at being a sg! i am not tremendously punk rock nor do i have any major piercings, but i do have a collection of gnarly shoes and a corset!

what do YOU want for christmas?
arachnequarius:

It's 3 degrees here right now. I'm thinking warm and fuzzy thoughts in a warm and fuzzy blanket. Who's got the hot cocoa?

I hope you are all nice and warm now. Other than working, I've spent the remainder of the day looking like linus and toting around a fleece blanket with me at all times. Where in buffalo are you?

Just returned from my basketball game. My team lost... barely. It was fun to play and I got a great workout. I'll have somthing more significant to ponder soon as fatigue has temporarily dulled my desire to type.

Hope everyone is well.

hugs and love baby

arachnequarius:
a combination of basking, and wanting to continuosly improve. and yes, teachers do in fact need big ol' raises in both income and respect.

yay on the game - the funness/workout part especially. losing is a state of mind, so it sounds like you won to me.

*hugs* in return.

I just saw this somewhere today, thought I'd share:

"The Thermodynamics of Hell"

The following is supposedly an actual question given
on a University of Washington chemistry mid-term. The
answer by one student was so "profound" that the
professor shared it with colleagues, via the Internet,
which is, of course, why we now have the pleasure of
enjoying it as well.

Bonus Question:

Is Hell...

Actually, no, there is no connection between this and the other fragment. Weird, huh? Heh. Just had to write this, and just had to write that. Don't know where either one will go, but not the same place...I do know that much. Glad you liked it. kiss
northstar:
hahahahaha. i like that.

I find myself overcome with trying to obtain amazing xmas gifts for friends and loved ones. I can't give someone 1 gift because the second I buy them something, I find something else that would be perfect also and of course I buy it, and everyone I'm shopping for is getting something like 3 or 4 gifts apiece.

It's gotten so bad and expensive that...

It's funny how profound an impact the arts can have on us. How a song can turnaround your day. How a painting can open your mind. How a film can make you believe. How fantasy can become reality.

Last night I watched a DVD and it made me misty. These people had chased their dreams and for a brief period caught up to them only...

ladymaze:
The perfection thing...I don't even mean just in my writing. I just kinda feel that way about life as a whole right now.

What kind of questions did you ask yourself?
arachnequarius:
yes - quite so. i think that the whole past/future thing is mostly relevant, although living in the present also comes with ambivalence and anguish. sometimes, it is full awareness that makes for the angst.

however, that is now past. smile on to better things.

if not for the arts, i'd not bother to survive. oh my yes. what dvd was it?

and goodness, you look aLOT like my youngest brother. surreal
