Day 1 of being back from Mexico and back in the swing of things was OK. Sunday doesn't really count since I didnt really work and just took some random shots around town with my sister and got a shitty breakfast at the Canterbury. I'm really glad I went down there and not SXSW.
Going away for this past week and coming home Sunday and not really having any access to news or net is probably one of the better things I could have done for myself. I was getting so pissed off and at the same time overwhelmed with a sense of day-to-day futility for not really making some fuckin' noise against all this BS. To hang out in a non-touristy town in Mexico with people that "we" (meaning USA standards) consider "poor" (meaning their car is rusty and their house doesn't have windows despite thier having a great family and love) was really refreshing. No one really knew about what was going on and it made me realize that it's OK not to, especially when their access to news would only be stuff like CNN.com or crappy Mexican TV networks.
My close friend recently moved down to LA from Seattle and is sending me pix from her backyard/pool in Laural Canyon/NoHo and it's driving me crazy. Make the voices stop.
I don't recomend anyone get the Kima wireless audio product. At first it was cool, I had my music playing on every device that has speakers simultaniously in my apartment so I could walk room to room and even hear it on my alarm clock... but now it's been making weird popping noises. Fuck this.
Nite nite.
