ugh, so the job ended up being a complete bust but not many of you know that so here's the story.
on wednesday, a friend of mine called me and told me that he had this great interview with this advertising company in altamonte springs (about 30 minutes from here) and that they were hiring lots of people so i should apply. so i found their little thingy on monster and i sent my resume. they called me the next morning and said they were "VERY" interested in bringing me in for an interview. so they told me to come on monday at 2pm.
my friend meanwhile was going to be job shadowing with them today. so he calls me around noon today and says "sorry to get your hopes up but this job is bullshit." basically the 34-40k a year that they said would be the salary is actually an average and that it is completely commission based. which wouldn't be a problem except that they basically want you to spend 10-12 hours a day going door to door selling brochures from a pizza place to people.
my friend said he wasn't interested and asked the guy to take him back to altamonte, they were in the orlando area at the time. the guy REFUSED cuz it was so far, so my friend asked to be dropped off at a gas station and had to wait for his mom to come get him and bring him back to get his car.
needless to say, i'm not going for the interview on monday...
