Hey, if you put some long arms on that robot, you could make it a monkey, then have the monkey in the tree throwing coconuts at him. Then he could be angry on the ground monkey.
I made a couple palm trees for the theatre I work for. I started with a steel frame, then wrapped it in cardboard sonotube. Then dipped strips of canvas in a thick paint and glue mix, and starting from the top, laid overlapping stripes of canvas to make the bark texture.
Anyway... I need to get some good pics of my recent work up, but you can see some old stuff HERE. When you look at those pictures, keep in mind that most of it is stuff I did in high school.
Currently, I'm working on a solid steel marionette that is about a foot tall and weighs about 15 pounds. I'll get some pics of that as soon as it's done. And I have some bookends. I'm making mostly smaller things now, since I don't have room for big stuff, and don't want to worry about paking and moving big stuff. I'm still saving up odd steel chunks for a chess set, but I want to make sure I have enough interesting parts to make a full set before I start. That's pretty much all I have going on right now.
I must be doing something wrong because I never find cash in my pockets....just loose change. What's up with THAT?!?!?
Any word on the scrap yard? How's our buddy Leland doing? I love the photo of your punkbot that's in your album. WAAAAY too cute.
And now another monkey
Okay, TWO more monkeys...

Oh yeah, and I dig your robot.
