I don't have insurance either but I've had 2 surgical proceedures in the last 2 years and there are already things in place. At least in Ohio. Talk to your hospital's social worker to see what they offer in the way of possibly taking care of all or most of your bills based on income. There are already federally funded programs to help people like you and I out who work our asses off but don't have the insurance to cover medical.
