We (Slow Djinn Fez) played a KICK-ASS show at the Nevada Museum of Art on Thursday, along with the Asha Belly Dancers. The official door count was over a thousand people!

Last night met muirtach at The Green Room to hear our friends The Atomiks play.
Plusses: A good crowd, lots of friends there, and the Atomiks rocked.
Minuses: The Guiness tap wasn't working, and The Green Room really needs to finish building their Men's room.

In contrast to last week, this week was crazy, but pretty good. Rehearsal (Irish band) Monday evening, with pints at the bar afterwards. Rehearsal (Middle-Eastern band) Tuesday, wine during. Eileen Ivers concert Wednesday; got to meet her, then went for pints afterwards (Just ourselves, we'd invited Eileen and her band, but they wanted to eat dinner at their hotel first --- imagine that!

Funny, I had two college friends who dated for a long time and then broke up. He started dating a girl that looked JUST LIKE his ex girlfriend for a couple years. Then they broke up and he got back together with his original girl...I hope they stay together!
I really hate the initial dating part of relationships. I like things better when you are past the awkward getting to know each other stage. Hopefully I'll be past that point soon with this new guy.

Well, they've gotten the fire contained and mostly put out, which is good. The entire hilside west of Carson City has been burned black. I picked up my car Monday morning, undamaged but reeking of smoke, and I got a face full of ashes when I turned on the air.

So...Berlin's concert last Fri. Then later that night hanging w/ friends at the Blue Lamp to hear our local rockabilly band, The Trainwrecks. An Independence day BBQ with some other friends from UNR's Psych department. On Wed. The 45's, Detroit Cobras, and the Rev. Horton Heat. Now I gotta rush out to listen to another local band: Push Box. Love that name! So far, it's been a damn good July. Hope it keeps up (and hope I do ).
Push Box's lead singer, Georgia , really really really ought to have pics up here. I wonder if I could talk her into it....

Yeah, I left my old car up in Chicago, traded it in on a new one. Just drove it down here! Now I have a whole new car to break in with road trips and making new memories!
