Being laid off isn't so bad. I have a lot of things to do before the next job starts. And the next thing I know I won't have any time to do them.
I get to take my kids to school and pick them up. I get to go to "Backstreet Cafe" and "Simple Simons" with my wife for lunch. Hit some meetings that I...

Absolutely. I have had trouble in the past "blooming where I was planted" It took me a while to realize as a male, that I am not what I do, I am who I am, and I do what I do-tough to learn, lots of ego-bashing over that. Glad you're getting to enjoy your family-those moments seem fleeting at times. biggrin

actually I have been on 2 jobs since before Christmas, about a week on each, which is okay since all of the rain this winter ... I never turn one down when the hall calls .. then yesterday got a name call this one should last for a couple of months ... well the last time I worked with this company was there for nearly a year. My reality is this though ... the fact I still have 2 teens living with me there is a need to keep the medical up along with the other things a parent is required these days.

When I think of how I was raised and how I am raising my kids I sometimes become very perplexed. I would never speak to my parents sarcastically or with an attitude. at least not that they could hear. I tell my oldest that he has to speak to his elders with respect. I spoke to my parents respectfully out of fear. I want my...

Got a response from Clara, it was a bug=bugs@suicidegirls.com, for a bug report. WHEW!

How's construction? shocked
oldsarge:
I hope so. I remember people I did work for as a kid, lawns, errands, delivering papers, before I was old enough to get "working papers"[in NY}-and get a real job, like delivering chicken. tongue tongue biggrin These kids are pretty industrious, you do have to guide them though, none of the kids previously seemed to have any kind of work ethic, this is how they get one, I guess.
How did you do for mudslides, rain, etc.?

What a great weekend. Earlier last week I took my wifes' wedding ring in to get fixed. As our relationship was starting to really fall apart the diamond in her ring fell out and got lost. We couldn't even remember how long ago it happened. The jeweler called me Friday on my way home from work, so I put my plan into motion. I called...

What has happened cannot be undone. But we, as human beings, have to go on with life and look to the future with a fresh mind and renewed confidence. smile

Whatever immediate advantage is gained at the expense of someone else is short lived. In the long run, causing others misery and infringing upon their peace and happiness creates anxiety, fear, and suspicion for oneself.

I have been working @ DreamWorks all week. It is a much better work situation then finishing retail stores. For one all the trades on the jobs are Union. And even though there is a push to get the job done I don't feel any stress.
My wife had to go up north to see her grandma who isn't well. She is flying home tonight....

Feeling real good it's my youngest sons b-day today. So grateful for having my family. My wife and I always reflect on what we did the day our sons were born. Time flies. I'm just glad I'm finally along for the ride. smile
