i left this comment for you a couple of days ago... but i leave it again, because it answers one of your questions:
i moved to lawrence in october because i wanted to get out of san francisco, and i met a boy who lived here.
i was back in california for a visit at christmastime, and my next planned visit is in the middle of may.
and you know what? i have not seen Closer. i have rarely been pleased with media portrayals of women in the sex industry, and i heard that Natalie Portman plays a stripper in that movie, so i have been not so interested in seeing it.
i used to dance at the Lusty Lady, and it really chaps my hide that i used to work with so many intelligent, purposeful, directed women, and yet still strippers in the media are rarely, if ever shown to have those attributes.
do you feel that Closer defies that?
