So I must admit, for never watching 24 before up until this season, I am totally sucked in. I guess if I were to say that to any loyal fan the reply would be "yea, it does that to you"
However, last night's eepisode struck a really sore nerve with me. Hit way too close for home for my liking, which raises the question if I will be able to watch the rest of the reason without me taking a few things to heart.
Silly? Most likely, but those who know me know my reasons for this. I'm not entirely sure I'm comfortable yet spilling that part of me out to this group yet. Don't take it personally, i'm just the new chick here.
Also, a keen valentine's day observation. Since it's been brought to my attention like a man walking around on fire these past few weeks. you can click the spoiler at your own discretion.
Everyone hates valentine's day. thats just the cool thing to do. I have never, ever met someone who actually said to me, out loud, that they could not wait for valentine's day. every year, people whine bitch and moan about this waste of time; single and attached alike. You know why? because we're all crying out for attention, thats why. ok, yea, sure there are the few people who REALLY do not like the "holiday" at all (maybe because it stems far back into some surpressed childhood memory, i dont know). People who are fortunate to have some sort of love interest and can at least be honest with themselves know that the one they love or appreciate or whatever, shows their partner and vice versa that everyday. And yet IMMEDIATELY after christmas, when those red pink and white displays hit the shelves everyone gets thrown into a panic of what to get whom to show their affection MORESO than usual. It all is rather pointless and i'm pretty damn sure i'm stating the obvious as well as digressing away from my point. perpetually through highschool i was single on that day, so i always shared that day with my best friend megan, who was vice president of the forever single club (myself being commander in chief). it was cute, it was funny and it made the whole ridiculous day just another day really. Now i'm the odd girl out in my group of friends and thats not a massive complaint really. yes boys, this can be yours if you can handle it. good luck. but i've come to find that the people who sit and cry about how much they hate the 14th of february always have something really positive to say come the 15th, because someone went out of their way to make sure they didn't feel alone and so on and so forth. So subconciously, do we as a society know this works? As totally bogus as everyone agrees that day is, we still celebrate it why? Because for the most part in the end we always get something out of it one way or another? Maybe? I don't know. I can only speak for myself, as an observer of the behavior i've seen around me since the day puberty kicked in. Do I have a "valentine" this year? I can confidently say i dont because i also hold no expectations because i am conditioned to accept disappointment. what will i be doing that day? hopefully working and doing my day to day thing. maybe going out to dinner with one of my couple friends because i am truly a delight to have around (ego alert). however, surprises never hurt anyone and that my friends is case in point. Ain't i a clever little devil.
I have to agree with you on all points there (about Apple Juice SG and you being pretty much awesome).
Oh and I don't hate Valentine's Day...never have, even when I was single all the time. Lots of people around me have always hated things like Valentine's Day and would get mad at couple's who were all Lovey Dovey in public, but I just never cared. Never bothered me, don't know why it bothered them. Seeing people holding hands and being happy has never once made me angry. Maybe jealous, but not angry
Actually I am kind of dreading Valentine's Day this year...but not for the typical reasons. The past two Valentine's Days I caught the stomach virus from hell, and vomited for over 8 hours straight. Yeah two years in a row of that kinda sucked...so I'm hoping the third turns out ok.
I hope yours turns out ok too! Sorry for the long comment...it happens *shrug*
