We traveled to Texas this past weekend to visit my boys at their dad's. It was opening weekend at TRF, where their father owns a shop, and they work there. Since I've never been to Houston (actually never been to Texas, come to think of it) and I wanted to see where they live, and hell, just see them, we went out for Columbus Day... Read More
It's autumn. I love the autumn, even though I get cold so easily. I love the sun streaming through the leaves as I drive down the narrow streets, dust kicking up because VDOT hasn't seen fit to pave part of the roads in Loudoun County.
Went to the farmers market today in Lucking Feesburg and got lots of nifty stuff from the local growers. Dunno... Read More
Had a nice summer visit with my sons, but now they're back in Texas with their father. My daughter is working at the local Bob Evans, and between her job and her spending time with her friends, I don't see her. (I also have the uncomfortable realization that in just a little more than 2 weeks, she could legally get on this site and I... Read More
I'm having difficulty with my right eye - could be several weeks or months for it to heal, and I've been informed that my job is going to be eliminated.
The real estate market is in the shitter, and there might be a hurricane on the horizon.
Mail call. Went out to the mailbox and got our daily mail. Inside was a box from the CVS. It was marked with the words "total protection inside!" and covered with red orchids. Obviously, this was an ad for feminine protection, a.k.a. mouse mattresses of doom for those five days out of the month when we bleed uncontrollably, but always fail to die. (Although many... The man passed his certification exam in massage therapy. I'm pleased for him, certainly, but I wish he'd actually practice on ME, y'know? My neck, shoulders and back hurt just like all the rest of y'all. I swear, it's like the cobbler's family or whatever -- I ain't got no shoes.
I'm feeling awfully "meh" lately. Not sure what that's about.
I'm feeling "meh" lately too! But in my case . . it prolly has to do with the fact that my job is being eliminated, and I'm having to look for a new one, in panic mode!
Also . . I can't remember the last time I got laid! Ugh! Not Fair!
It was my fourth wedding anniversary on Thursday. It was relatively low key, tho we did go see Phantom of the Opera at the Kennedy Center last night as a gift to each other -- although it wasn't particularly a romantic gesture as my eldest was along for the ride, too.
I'd seen the play before, but the man hadn't -- and last night, unfortunately,... Read More
I'm so jealous when somebody even mentions Vegas. I've been a tour guide for so many friends but I never get sick of showing people around. If you ever need some websites to find so cool/fun places to go let me know. I think I told you a little about Red Rock Canyon.
Hey there. If you like Thai food and don't mind catching a cab to the "off strip" parts of vegas, check out Lotus of Siam. Their site is here.
We enjoy the various family thai places around DC and I think Lotus has most of them beat for great food. Decor is about 1/2 star, but, hey, you're there for the food. It's hidden in a dive strip mall, but on my last trip there I had to visit twice.
Been here there and everywhere, not the least of which was hampered by a loss of laptop when my motherboard went to the great beyond, and was capped by a fantabulous trip to Vegas for a long weekend party with friends for a wedding.
Stayed at the Mirage right on the strip. It was a blast. I want... Read More
I'm still here, sort of. Been a crazy week. And now, my boys are home for summer break, so things will be even crazier for a while. I'll be around, though. Sporadically.
JERUSALEM (CNN) -- After an episode made global headlines earlier this week, the Palestinian government has shelved a Hamas-owned children's TV show starring a Mickey Mouse lookalike that urged Palestinian children to take up arms against America and Israel.
The show, "Tomorrow's Pioneers," aired in Gaza... Read More
