remember me? so i'm back from va-china. i feel like a foreigner here. i have been crying a lot, i really want to be there still. i missed all my friends here, but i miss china. i miss my friends there. i don't know when and if i will ever see them again. and that has to be one of the most depressing things in the entire world.
i had an amazing time (if you couldn't tell). the country is fucking amazing, hong kong is my new favorite city in the world, it blows away nyc. but seriously, it is all about the people i met there, and the lessons i came away with. i almost feel more at home there then in america. except for their governement, i am not down with the communism. but the communal way of life that the governement helps to reinforce is rad. we worked together in such a group way, everybody cares just as much about the person they are sitting next to as themselves.
i get depressed because i don't think i can ever really explain how this trip has changed my life. i wish everybody could have experienced this with me. i have been told by my professor and a few wise friends that culture shock isn't from going to a new culture, but it's the shock you feel when you try to readjust to your own culture after experiencing a foreign one. i know now how true that is.
good-bye china
now somebody buy me a drink, i need to readjust before i get too miserable.
