I have this collection of rum bottles hidden in a vault in my bedroom, where the temperature is a constant 68F and the humidity in maintained at 72-75. This is possible thanks to a regulated air-conditioner and an excellent German made humidifier which also creates perfect conditions for a collection of wine, tequila and Cuban cigars that all sleep with me.
I had constant flow of guest drop by all day today and I opened this cherished bottle of Havana Club-Blue Label Barrel Proof Rum from the vault I picked up in Cuba last month. Everyone was served in SG shot glasses. The only one that noticed was this gorgeous Venezuelan-Italian woman in her late 20's that looked at me with a smile and said "nice shot glasses you got there."
I have always been a "toy-maker" since I could remember. I sold newspapers at the age of 7 to earn $3.60 a week in order to increase my collection of hot-wheels which reached its peak at about 200+ cars. When I turned 12 years old I started to buy CB radios and walkie-talkies and later collected coins, then books and then art. Now I only collect stuff I can share and consume with comrades and those who the universe brings my way.
When the day was over, I had shared a load food, Cuban cigars, wine, tequila and the whole bottle of Havana Club Rum was gone. I met new people, introduced some people to others who made new friends. People shared thoughts, experiences, concerns and some powerful personal energy. I am still a toy-maker, but everything I buy, own or posses has no meaning unless I can share it, give it way or in some way bring pleasure to another soul. My day started sharing a very valuable bottle of rum in SG shot glasses and I ended up with a satisfied soul and an inner peace I am enjoying right now. For me today's lesson to remember: Stuff is only valuable if you can share it. Un Abrazo.
