Winter has now arrived to our great windy city At first I think the cold is just for a couple of days, and then I start to consider taking down and putting the air conditioners away. I know the next thing is to go and buy the plastic to put on the windows. I live in front of a huge park, the beautiful Humboldt Park, over 600 acres and the wind really comes through. It is a beautiful view and I love the green in the summer and white of all the snow in the winter. My view changes, and I have changed and grown this weekend.

One of my dearest friends, a true brother died on Saturday. I was there at his bed side in the hospital. I watched his heart in the monitor drop and lower as the minutes ticked on. I held his hand, I placed my hand on his chest, and I remembered all the great moments, all the great times we shared. I held my tears, and at times I held my smile for I enjoyed his presence, I loved his company and I trusted his friendship. But as the monitor continued to drop I knew he will not recover from this and just understood the final page, in his final chapter in this life was just about to be written and was coming to an end. The space he occupied in my thoughts, the moments we spend together on a daily basis, the lunches we had and the conversations about politics, the economy and how we can change the world - will never happened again. Yet I was happy right there and then in those final moments. I had shared life with him and it was good, I had felt the warmth of his love and the laughter in his soul to the last moment. And then he went flat, my heart stopped for a second, I knew this was it. The doctor came in and after various attempts checking his chest, she said I do not hear a heart beat, he is gone. He has only left his body I thought, for in my heart he will always be present. Now he became a friend I once had, a brother who shared moments in my life, a soul who I met while I was in the planet. A true revolutionary, a true traveler, a man I will never forget is now gone. His time here gave me wonderful moments and created such great times. His departure has changed my life and has helped me grow this weekend, tell me how was yours.

Keep the Revolution Moving forward and experience the place and space you occupy, every moment you employ and every soul you embrace. Un Abrazo

I hope you are well (and your kitty is well, too)!
