Missed this thing, and it's only been a couple of days!
Well what have I been up to?
Recieved a piccy of me & Laura out in fancy dress for my mates 21st...
Went to see Hayseed Dixie last night in Newcastle. Wasn't planning on it as I usually tech a gig in Sunderland on a Wednesday but all future comedy gigs have been pulled at the venue, at least for the near future.
Met Hayseed Dixie at their hotel at about 3pm and was gonna take them to the local radio station. Unfortunately the lead singer broke down sonewhere between Aberdeen & Newcastle so the show got cancelled... Bummer!
Instead I ended up taking Don Wayne (Banjo) out shopping to buy some new banjo strings. He was amazed at how busy the town was and how there were so many places to eat so close to each other, something I've never noticed before! And he told me he would stick me on the guest list.
The guys all went to bed at about 4:15pm, so I went and did some shopping.
Met Laura at 5:30 and headed out to get food.
At about 7:20pm we arrived at the venue and qued up at the box office. When we told them we were on the guest list we were shocked to be handed 2 "Access All Areas" passes. Oh how much fun this could be hehe.
Went back to see the guys, Dale (Mandolin) & Jake (Bass) were fast asleep on the sofa bless them, after just eating a HUGE curry. It was time to give them their presents from us... Ham & pease pudding stotties! Don Wayne was very excited about this as I've been promising them these since about May time, possibly even sooner.
Went out to watch the last few songs of the support act (DarkWater) they were pretty cool, but what swung it for me was their cover of "White Wedding"!
I tried to get into the photography pit to take a few photos but security wouldn't let me in... Some access all areas pass that turned out to be. Not to worry though, I got told by him to go up to the office and tell them I was with the band and wanted to take photos. They sorted me & Laura out with photo passes straight away, no questions asked.
Anyway, that's about all I've been up to recently. That and work!
