I just had an idea for a small online business.

How do you go about buying a domain name that's not owned by anyone?

Anyone else saddened by the ham-fisted humour evident in the trailer for the new Wes Anderson movie?

Bill Murray is funny. He doesn't need a schticky screenplay to be funny, in fact, his capacity for comic...

Love your new gizmo propic....
mk700c:
slap a second on what scop said; there was much discussion about N-dawg and the Hedgy being there.

Now that you're taking the bull by the jangles and starting your own online cult, I'm assuming we'll be seeing you on the jet-set very soon. You and your wheelbarrows full fo money.

As for said cult, should you need the help of a living, breathing capitalist pig-dog, you know where to come. All consulting at SOLM prices of course (read: free, like duh).

My dinner break was interrupted tonight by a call to the salesfloor to deal with a customer who was running through the store naked muttering curses to himself.

How was your day?

* * * * *

Anybody else amused by my referring to the naked guy as a "customer"?

Aww, thankya. He's my sweetheart. And, you're right, I don't trust the other two, either... and I live with them. frown

I'm back! The good news is that you don't have to go to L.A. to rock the good times. Ann Arbor is like way more close type.

Also, I'm jonsin' for the Tranna already.

Dear guy with the freshly-coiffed short hair and cute little nose who didn't hold the door open even though you heard that I was just a pace behind you and didn't ask me which floor though you were blocking the panel,

I just thought you should know that your girlfriend was checking me out on the elevator ride up.

Hugs and kisses,
The guy you...

My problem:

I often fail to realize how much we get from a character when they're just present. I'm so concerned with cooking up backstory that I leave no room for subtext when I begin to write. I wind up dumping it all in there instead of just what's important to the story. Consequently it shouldn't be any wonder why I find it so hard...

It ain't no thing.

The tragedy is that I think it ate my favourite Catherine Wheel CD.

It's probably really easy to replace the stereo... or, better yet, maybe I'll just put in a new one.

But still... dammit!
superflea:
no, that's legit.

it actually took me quite a while to really get into the cough.

and i'm not saying that's the necessary end result of a year of having them in casual rotation. i dig them. your mileage may vary.

and there is a difference in flavour between the coughing stuff and his solo material... i think the solo stuff might be slightly more up your alley. i'll bring it along - if my CD player starts behaving - when i come up for drinks.

For a guy whose girlfriend doesn't have time to spend with him, I sure spent a lot of time with my girlfriend today. smile

I've been considering a return to the world of musical instruments of late - it has been YEARS since I've touched a thing so I may as well begin from scratch, in particular since my major experience was with the mighty trombone..

Far -- FAR away in any way shape or form from a string instrument..

You know that Tom Waits song, "I Can't Wait to Get Off Work to See My Baby"? I feel like that. Only I'm off work and I'm not going to see my baby.

It's the same feeling you had when you were little and you woke up from a nap feeling deeply sad about nothing that made any sense.

I'm going out for pizza, 'cause...

Why hasn't Wes Anderson used "She's a Rainbow" in any of his movies yet?

I'll tell you why.

He has yet to write a scene of such sublime adolescent ache as would warrant its use.

But he's getting there...

Dear everyone whose place of work was closed for Simcoe Day,

Fuck off.

PS. I was not among you. I was the ill-tempered fellow at the bookstore that was so handily open today.

It's Sunday. When I was a kid this was the worst day of the week, because every other Sunday my dad would bring my brother and I back to our mom's after spending the weekend with him, and all kinds of bitterness would be stirred up. It wasn't that I didn't like coming back--I think I preferred my quotidian duties and worries to the weird...

Half way through reading that post I picked up a pencil and stabbed myself in the eye.

thanks a lot, doggy. Thanks a lot. tongue

Seriously though, my parents gave eachother the ol' "don't let the door hit you in the cunt on your way out" when I was two. Luckily I was too young to remember the rough times, and they seemed to keep things pretty well sheilded from the kids.

That's why I was a bit surprised in high school when I started to realize that my dad was a total whore.

Mom just rolled her eyes.
