I love it when you're posts are unquestionably right, balanced, and civilized. You should be a sperm donor, every day.

Lemony fresh is right, your dating profile is great. Good thing I'm off the vegan wagon.

I like ontological debates, they feel like they're exercising my brain. I'm sure in six years I'll feel like you do though. Just have to give it time.

There should be a random emo journal update tool somewhere online. Something like the Postmodern Generator for the myspace crowd.

The ironic encapsulation would be complete and seamless.

legionnaire:
Would it randomly select lyrics from Bright Eyes and italicize them for journal entries? That would be rather appropriate.

Emo as a movement is rather pathetic, I have to say.

It's kind of like when you live next door to a frat house and end up with people puking on your lawn and throwing their cigarette butts in your yard and whatnot. I think you guys might just have to move your country to get away from us.

^^^This will be a trend all the way 'til Monday, I reckon.

then they'll turn it off? that'd be lovely.

well i mean, dont we all?

Is it irony when a group of people get outraged because they think publishers are dumbing down 1200 page books, but then don't bother to read the one page source?
legionnaire:
Will do, sounds interesting.

Actually, on that note, I recommend flying west at dusk. I've done it once or twice, and if you're in the right seat you can have a picture perfect sunset that lasts for 2 hours.

Good bye, high school yearbooks.

The sooner we pat down the last shovelful on that guy, the better.

Thanks. Now I'm just trying to keep from climbing the walls. Can you tell?
st_expedite:
Thanks, but I got off very easy. Our house didn't flood or blow away, I'm visiting at an Ivy league law school for the semester, and most importantly, everyone I know is safe and accounted for.

Ha. High school yearbooks. My 10th reunion is this Saturday; I think I'll pass.

We signed the lease.

In 9 weeks, my commute gets reduced by half while my funtimes intake increases sevenfold.

Training begins now.

And for those of you wondering, yes, the new digs are perfectly guest-friendly and 8 subway stops from all the fun things we did/will do in Toronto.

You, Siv, me- everybody's getting great new digs.
superflea:
Ooh?

Do tell.

I'm inferring from the grrl's journal, but give me the full details.

I actually made it into TO with the intention of buying a new soundcard at L&M and checking out the SF con downtown. We didn't get to go gear shopping (probably best for my poor, abused Visa), but the con was nerdy goodness.

It will be most excellent to have you in the city as I continue to develop an appreciation for how important it is that I spend more and more time out of mine.

We must do sushi sometime, and go play every guitar on the wall at the Fret!

It's one of those weeks at work where I can see that in 3 weeks, which will mark 6 months at my post, I'll find myself surrounded by things that are better than anyone hoped they could be all because of me and my particular talents.

I make this kind of entry so I can look back in a month and weep at my astounding...

What do you call it when it occurs to you--for the first time, and weeks in advance--that attending a concert means standing in line which means having to overhear half a dozen perfectly idiotic conversations, at least one of which will be about the band you've paid $30 to see and will be so incredibly stupid that you'll remember parts of it during the show...

Maybe it's a little like Verfremdungseffekt?

I come home and find Ginny's been practicing at being a Polish grandma. There's sour cherry and plum/apricot cake as well as some kind of fruit perogies all over the place. And she did the dishes.

And here I was feeling productive for having ironed 3 shirts and shaving before going over to my dad's for the afternoon.

In short, a perfectly uneventful weekend...

I'm just now getting to listening to that song you sent me. (My defense - I hardly check my spam-logged hotmail account these days, tending to reach first for the mighty gmail.)

I can't find lyrics anywhere!

It's the type of song that would fit in on the High Fidelity soundtrack. For some reason, songs that remind people of me tend to fit nicely on the High Fidelity soundtrack. biggrin

I think I may be becoming a cliche in my old age. biggrin

In totally unrelated tidbit news, I found the greatest bubble tea of all time in a food court in Brampton.
